Dear Support Quick question. re ACS_Buttons. The documentation states that "Only one Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button can be "On" (Down) at any time."
However, as I'm seeing the possibility of more than one being enabled (Down) at a time, I'm a little confused. Is there a relationship between "Enabled/Disabled" and "On/Off", or are these 2 different states? Can a Button be "Down" (Enabled) but have its State "Off" because a more recent ACS Button has been selected and "its" the previous Button, has not yet been reset/disabled?
For example, I am seeing 2 Buttons enabled (Down) on my control which doesn't seem to match my understanding of the documentation. My reasoning is that 2 Buttons Down mean they are both in an "On" State and "Enabled"? The Control Bar buttons, 1 through 150, can be toggled On and Off. Visually this state is shown for the Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button by the button being pushed in or out on the Control Bar. Only one Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button can be On at any time. So setting one Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button to be On also effectively switches off any other currently On Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button.
Please would you help clarify this for me. Many thanks. |

The documentation you quoted is out of date and it has now been updated. The documentation also says this: This has changed effective with version 2268: Only one Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button can be active at any time for a particular chart. Therefore, selecting an Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button also effectively disables the currently active Advanced Custom Study Control Bar button.
Effective with version 2268 and higher, any number of Advanced Custom Study Control Bar buttons can be in an On state at the same time. On is the same thing as enabled. And Off is the same thing as disabled. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point.
