What is the easiest way to bring back a corrupted sub instance that crashes during start up while keeping all the old .cht and data files

We are not sure exactly what the issue is. Does not make sense that is corrupted.

What exactly is happening?

Follow the instructions here:

Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance: Deleting Sub Instances

However, do not delete the Data subfolder in the sub instance folder.

Step one Save Data folder from sub instance 3
Two Delete the Sub Instance 3 Folder
Three create new Sub instance from the Main instance.
Four exit NEW sub instance 3
Five delete Data folder of New sub Instance 3 and replace with OLD Data folder from original Sub instance 3
Six restart Sub Instance 3
Note this generated Two sub instances inside of Subinstance 3 see pic (note the Title of the Directory Sub..3)
which I deleted and I'm hoping won't reappear when I exit and restart SC Main.
