For line-on-close charts, I want to get rid of the twitchy "tail" at the right edge and see only completed bars. A forum participant provided a way using two instances of the Color Bar on Alert study. The technique works for him and others, so I do not believe this is a programming issue.

However, there is an interaction. When I apply the second instance of Color Bar on Alert to the chart, the chart scale for MNQ switches from normal to 0 - 12,000, the next even thousand above today's market action. Once this change occurs, deleting the Color Bar studies has no effect on it. Ditto restarting the program. Nothing does except changing to an appropriate user-defined scale.

It feels like something with a value of zero is being added to the chart, but that does not explain why it is happening to my charts and not those of other users. For context, here are the Color Bar studies.

First instance: =C[1], set to Hidden
Second instance: =ID1.SG1=0, set to background color

On some charts, ID1 is already taken, so the first Color Bar study becomes ID2. The second instance is adjusted accordingly.

Does any of this suggest a solution or an approach to finding one? Many thanks for whatever non-programming help you can provide.

It sounds like on the Color Bar Based on Alert Condition study that is NOT hidden the Input for Draw Zero Values is set to Yes. Change that Input to No and you should be fine.
