Does SC keep a trade log?

Hello everybody,

Thanks for all the help you have given me so far.

Here's my problem today:

I installed SC on a new computer and migrated my settings by copying the contents of the appropriate directory (on SC support's suggestion)to the corresponding directory in my current SC installation.

So I had my settings, but then whenever I open trades (in Advisor mode and with "use order fill calculated position" checked) SC attributes my long or short position to a position entered previously, usually quite far from the money.
I think the settings and files I copied into the SC directory contained logs of previous trades that SC is adding to whenever I open a trade.

I wonder if you could suggest a simple fix for this, like the name of a file that needs to be erased to dispense with all this. Is that possible?

Thanks,

Demi

Could it be tradepositiondata.xml?

Can I delete it and trust SC will generate a new file?

The file is TradeActivityLog.DAT. You need to exit from Sierra Chart. Delete this file in the main Sierra Chart folder and then start Sierra Chart.

Thank you. That worked for older orders.

However, when I deleted the TradeActivityLog.dat I was in a position. (My mistake.)When I later exited that short position SC logged in a new long trade and now sees me long when I'm really flat.

OK, I deleted several times the file in question but the trade is retained by the program. Probably a daily log somewhere. Will it disappear tomorrow? I can live with this distortion for a day or two.

Thanks.

This is most likely because order fills are being downloaded from your IB account.

You can disable this with Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> More Interactive Brokers Settings >> Download Historical Order Fills on Connect.
