Is there any secret as to where to click to move the text on the chart calculator? I find that often I can click on the text and then move it... but often other times every time I try to click it, I end up moving the line instead

We believe that what you are doing is trying to move the text with a single click. The trick is to not do it this way.

Instead, you need to click once to select the Chart Calculator drawing, which will put the markers on the line, and then click again on the text and drag it without lifting up on the left button.

is there a way to unselect a button (e.g. if you have a chart calculator button) in a toolbar?

I mean I press the button, it gets depressed and waits for you to draw the line - but if I decide I don't want to, can I get out of it?

You would need to have another Tool button for another tool that you would want to switch to, such as the Pointer or Hand.

If you have already started to draw with a tool, then right-clicking will clear the current drawing.
