I would like to see the TPO point of control, value area high, and value area low on a candlestick chart set to draw one bar per day using regular trading hours. When I add the TPO Value Area Lines study to my chart, the POC is drawn in the middle of each bar, with the VAH and VAL drawn equidistant from the POC. Please see the attached image and chartbook. Clearly, the POC/VAH/VAL should not be in the center of every bar. What could be causing this? My current subscription has enabled me to successfully use a TPO chart, so this is not a subscription issue. https://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1662090106711.png |

You are misunderstanding how the study works. If you want TPO levels based on 30min blocks you would need to use a 30min (or less) chart so that the calculations can be performed. Using a single bar results in a single TPO block at each interval in the single bar, so TPOC is then the mid price level (as you have seen). Add the study to a 30min chart and overlay on to the daily using the Study/Price Overlay, example attached. |
