First mention that I am on the 15 day test of Sierra, using Denali data feed. The question is I am trading CL, with a footprint on (number bars) and it updates really slow. Specially with it being a fast product. Is there a way that I can change some of the settings so all the orders update faster. Now I feel they update like once a second or even less. Thank you |

What is the exact symbol of the chart? Refer to: Chart Settings: Chart Update Interval in Milliseconds (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Display >> Chart Update Interval menu) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. You need to go to the October contract. September is not active at this time. Refer to: Changing to a New Futures Contract Month If you still have a problem: Provide an image of the chart or Trade DOM, by following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/PostingInformation.php#Image Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Just to mention - charts update good when the standard update interval is set to the standard. But when I do change it to 600000, the chart I did the change to doesn't update at all.

Right that makes sense. There is normally no reason to use such a high Chart Update Interval like that. You may want to use 1000 to update every second.

Updating every second is way too small for such a fast and thin product. Which is the higher interval I could use and that it would still work. I feel like it need to update at least every 0,1 sec. Thank you |

Sorry for my misunderstanding, the lower the interval the more it updates - now I get it. So now I have it set up on 100milliseconds. But it still updates around 1sec or so. With other platform it's faster. So it's not a CPU problem + my CPU is quite fast actually. Is there any other way this could get faster? THANK YOU |

Thank you, I still wan't able to find the problem. That's the main thing to me to choose for Sierra or stay with IRT. It can be an issue trading with a slow FOOTPRINT. Do you think it's possible this is happening because I am with the 15 day test and delayed data? Thank you |

You will definitely get faster updates with real-time data. A 100 ms transmission interval is the fastest with delayed data. For further performance improvements refer to: High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often Use only a single chart for testing. No other charts. And you can use sub instances to distribute processing load (File >> New Instance). Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Oh. That's OK but I would be happy with 100ms updates tough. I am currently far from that.

We have given you a new trial. Test again, and just use a single chart without any studies. And refer to this help topic: Prices / Data Falling Behind Go through all of the items on that page to have a full comprehensive understanding of everything related to this. We do not know what the problem is in your case. There definitely is not a problem on the Sierra Chart side regarding this. So I find out my chartbook has a lot of charts with different timeframes and indicators. That must be what makes the footprint slow. So (even with the same chartbook open) the problem is resolved running the footprint on another chartbook. The problem tough is I trade with various screens and I want to dettach some charts and when I cahnge the chartbook the "dettached charts" hide. Is it possible that I can run 2 instances of Sierra (with the same data) so I can leave the dettached charts on and then be able to have a chartbook with only the footprint on (and that doesn't hide when I change the chartbook)? |

Yes this is definitely it: So I find out my chartbook has a lot of charts with different timeframes and indicators. That must be what makes the footprint slow.
Yes you can absolutely do this. You can run an unlimited number of instances: Is it possible that I can run 2 instances of Sierra (with the same data) so I can leave the dettached charts on and then be able to have a chartbook with only the footprint on (and that doesn't hide when I change the chartbook)?
