I am sending a short video of a problem i experienced and recorded on Friday July 15, 2022 at 10:00 AM EST (report of consumer sentiment) . I saw the same problem on Wednesday July 13, 2022 at 8:30 AM EST (report of CPI )(not recorded). The recording shows four monitors being recorded. Look at the bottom left pane which has three DOM's. On the far left is a Chart DOM of ES/MES(quote), in the middle is a Jigsaw DOM of MES using CQG data and on the right there is a Trade DOM showing ES. The issue i experienced i that during this volatile move the last price and current bid and offer went off the screen and would not re-center. It would not re-center automatically or manually if i tried to double click on the price ladder, which i did multiple times over a period of time. Usually this will re-center the DOM. What is interesting is that the Jigsaw DOM and the Trade DOM both re-centered automatically. I had both the Chart DOM and the Trade DOM scales set the same way - Constant Range and Reset when last bar is 25 ticks away from center. I also tried other scale settings on the Chart DOM using replay of this event and all of them had the same issue. I cannot use re-center last bar or price on every update because the chart is bouncing around too much and and it actually makes me dizzy. I have also noticed that sometimes the center line will move up or down from the center and establish a new center which is not really the center. This typically occurs after a move up or down that results in re-centering. But it happens inconsistently. I don't have a video of that but let me know if you need me to provided one. Thanks for your help Steve Leon |

The centerline will work consistently and is based upon what is considered the center of the constant range and that will change based upon the settings and price movement. I set the scale settings back to what i believe i had during the event i recorded and sent to you. Since then I played around with some of the setting such as the adjust interval and different Constant Range Scale Mode. One other thing I had changed recently was i changed to no scroll wheel support on Global-->General Setting-->GUI. This is because I was having trouble with losing the DOM numbers when the last bars were not being displayed. Don't now if this has anything to do with the problem. Again the Trade DOM that I sent you in the same recording with essentially the same scale settings was able to re-center relatively quickly. The only difference is that the adjust interval was set to 100 ms. I tried to test 100 ms and 40 ms on the chart DOM with replay and the same thing happened. Also I dont know what happens when the box for re-center on chart scroll is checked. I cant notice a difference whether it is checked or not. Despite reading the support manual I still dont understand what this does. I dont think its related to the problem I had but wanted to ask you. Thank you for your help |

Just wanted to follow up with this to see the status. I once again had a problem today with a very fast move. I had to recenter it manually using the Move (left click on mouse) to move the scale. In this case i was able to move it within a reasonable time frame because it did not move that far. I was able to get the current trading back on the screen Thanks |

Looks like we have to develop a new Constant Range Scale mode for what you are looking for. The behavior you see is correct based upon the mode being used.

This new Constant Range Scale mode is available in the latest prerelease: "Re-Center When The Last Price Exceeds A Certain Number Of Ticks From The Center".

Thank you very much for creating the new Constant Range mode. I have it on the 2420 pre release and have applied it the settings of my Chart DOM and Trade DOM. I guess it did not affect the Trade DOM because there are no "bars" the Trade DOM ? I had a couple of follow up clarification questions 1) What exactly does Re-center on chart scroll do or mean (when you check the box next to it) ? I have not noticed any difference. I do currently have scrolling of the chart disabled - dont know if that affects it as well ? 2) What is the fastest adjust interval that you can use in the Constant Range Scale mode section ? Thank you |

1. Is this a Chart or Trading DOM? With that option, any time you perform a manual scroll of the chart, the Constant Range is re-centered.

2. This can be as low as 1 ms.

I assume then that this is unrelated to the Chart update interval setting in global settings. I have read that that can be set no less than 40 ms.
