Not sure how it happened but a chartbook which was working yesterday in one of my instances is blank.

How could i retrieve a backup copy of the chartbook that would be working or functional ?

I have not done this in a while so i dont remember

Thank you

Unfortunately I cant retrive the exact chart i was looking for. I looked using CW and the various Subintances and backups. I must have somehow accidentally deleted and saved it that way ?

I had two follow up questions after having tried to resolve this issue

1) Do you have go under File and Save All before you close the chart. I thought this would be the same as saving when you close the chart in the upper right hand corner (red X) and it asks you to save using the dialog box. What do you suggest for saving/backing up files when you close charts/shutdown the computer ?

The chart that i lost was in a subinstance. I noticed that none of the subinstance chart folders i am opening appear in the backups folder; when i open backups folder through the subinstance ?
Thank you

1) You do not need to specifically save if you are selecting the option to save when you exit. Personally, I use the save on exit all the time and have never had a problem with it.

2) Make sure you are looking in the Backups folder that is part of the Sub-Instance. Each Sub-Instance is its own installation of Sierra Chart, so there will be a replication of the folder structure in each sub-instance.

Thank you very much ! I found the chart I was looking for not realizing that the backup folders are specific for each subinstance.

Thanks again !
