Hi There,

Am I able to rollover to the Sept contract in the MES without liquidating my short position in the current contract??

I'm not sure of the process to carry my position forward. I've never been in a situation where I want to hold onto my position.

Can you please advise?

Many thanks

You need to close the position in the current contract and establish a new position in the new contract.

Thank you, though that doesn't answer my question.
How do I go about that through SC?

First, do not rollover the current chart. That way, you will still have the symbol for which you had opened the trade. Then you can close out the trade under that symbol.

If you have already rolled over, then you need to change the symbol back to the previous contract. Select Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol and in the Symbol field enter the name of the symbol associated with the contract for which you have the trade. Then you can work with the trade associated with that symbol.

If, by chance, you have the option for Chart >> Chart Settings >> Symbol >> Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol set to Yes, then you will need to set this to No, or else every time you try to change the symbol to the previous contract, it will keep resetting it to the current contract.
