Two questions regarding Numbers Bars Calculated Values: How do we display the Average Volume per Trade (SG15) with two decimal places, and leave other subgraphs to display in whole numbers? The attached screenshot depicts a chart filtering out all volume less than 100 contracts. Beneath the highlighted bar, notice the number of 4658 for Ticks. In the documentation, Ticks is defined as: "•Ticks (Ticks): This is the total number of trades for the Numbers bar." Looking back up at the Numbers Bar, this cannot be the number of trades; the correct number is 8; the chart volume filter is not being taken into account. Therefore, the Average Volume per trade number is also incorrect. All other numbers appear correct. Thanks. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-04-25 20:02:10

We will look at the number formatting issue. In regards to the second question, review the documentation for Volume Filtering to understand how it works. There is no further support we will provide on this. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. You need to set the Value Format for the Numbers Bars Calculated Values study to 1. And in the next release the Average Volume per Trade will always display with 2 decimal places.

I meant to say one decimal place, as in "6.2"; this is the most widely used. Regarding your answer to the other question, I have reviewed the documentation for Volume Filtering, and it does not explicitly state that trade counts do not respect the filter. I respectfully add that the whole purpose of overlaying other numbers bars calculated values with volume filters, is to compare number bar statistics that are SPECIFIC to their volume filters; it is this comparison that is important to footprint users, yielding clues for trading. This is how competing products work. |

We will set it to one decimal place. This is how competing products work. Then use the other product.
