I have a question about the stop limit and fill price. I had a short open last night on /nq 4/13/22 22:39:12 PST with a stop price of 14304.25. /nq never reached 14304.25 and my fill price was from around 14292.24-14293. Do you know why my fill price was so much lower then the actual stop? In the attached screenshot red is what I listed as 'price' which aligns w/ my stop location and the blue is my fill price. |

You would need to look at the Order Action Source for those fills to see why they occurred. It could have been because your trade account is not setup to hold overnight positions, or you have an option set to close positions by a certain time, or maybe you were using the Global Profit/Loss and it triggered, etc. Refer to the following for how to access the information: Trade Activity Log: Viewing Historical Trade Activity For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-04-14 17:25:02

I had the same thing happen on MNQ this afternoon. My chart was showing my stop 10 pts higher than where it was triggered/filled. Price didn't ever trade where my Stop was placed.

The order action source is just my regular attached order brackets. This was quite an expensive issue for me, am I misunderstanding something here? I don't have global profit/loss set, nor a position to close by a certain time. Also, 10pm PST is already considered the new day session, it wouldn't be considered overnight, but my account is setup to hold overnight. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-04-14 21:03:48

We have discussed this with Edge Clear. And we have done some checking on this. When a stop order is triggered on the CME it becomes a Limit order. The Price field and the Price1 field in the Trade Orders list in Sierra Chart will show the Limit order price. So you no longer see the stop price. Your stop though actually filled very close to your most recently set stop order price on that order. If you go through the Trade Activity Log, look at the last price you modified your stop order to. This is the trigger price. You will find that your order filled close to or at that price. What was my stop price before? I'm certain that my stop was set at 14304.25, given that I have a study that shows liquidity below it, so I set my stop above it. The only other stop limits I see in my history log were from a previous trade which was correctly filled. After speaking to edgeclear, they cannot actually see where my stop was set, but where it was filled in their history log. Say I have a stop limit set at 14304.25, why would it fill at 14292.25-14293? That's pretty far. Maybe I'm misunderstanding how stop limits work in Sierra Charts? When setting the bracket order, I'm only given 1 price for the stop, if my stop is set at 14304.25 and turns into a limit order, I'm unclear why it would trigger at a lower price 10-12points away. You can see this in your Trade Activity Log. We would have to check the logs again but your Stop order price, for the order we looked at, was at or within a tick, of the fill price.

Would you mind posting a private screeshot or provide the orderID? And if this is the case, why is the stop of the limit 10points away? is this default? The orderactionsource says LastModifyPrice1: 14292.25, CurrentPrice1: 14304.25. Price and Price2 is at 14304.25 I've attached an image Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-04-15 22:59:34

Can you help me understand what is the difference between Price and Price2 field. When I go back and look at my Trade Order Log in the Trade Activity Log, it appears I have two different prices or stop losses. Is this a setting I have turned on? If so, how can I fix that? Thanks!

First, you need to understand Stop-Limit orders and understand Stop orders on the CME.: Order Types: Stop-Limit Order Types: Stop Orders on the CME We have made it clear previously that at the time of the fill the price is changed to the Limit price. And you should also be aware of the last price you set the stop order at. All of that is in your log. this is what we see for the last modification for this order: 346463: ActivityType DateTime TransDateTime Symbol FilledQuantity Note OrderActionSource InternalOrderID Price Price2 ServiceOrderID OrderType Quantity BuySell OrderStatus FillPrice TradeAccount OpenClose ParentInternalOrderID PositionQuantity FillExecutionServiceID HighDuringPosition LowDuringPosition AccountBalance ExchangeOrderID ClientOrderID TimeInForce Username

So what happened was that I moved the stop from 14304.25 to 14292.25 which would be the last modify price. That's unfortunate, I don't remember doing that. So that means that price & price2 will reflect the previous location of the stop? Thank you for helping me look into this
