Is it possible to make the Line or Rectangle Drawing Tools stationary like the Stationary Text Tool? Thank you in advance |

There is no support for this. Although not exactly what you are looking for, you can always extend the line or rectangle, therefore it will always be showing on the screen. Keep in mind that for a line this would work best for a horizontal line. The purpose for something like this is to have a fixed object on the screen at all times that can be moved as needed. For example, * A price based go-no-go tool (line, box, risk/reward, etc.) * A time-based tool (i.e. a 5 minute candle swing distance on a 30 second chart) To know, while on a lower time frame, if you have enough candles on your chart to be able to see the swings on a 5 or 15 or 1 hour time frame by drawing a line or box along the time axis wherever you want on your chart to indicate to you that you are still within the price action, seems very reasonable. Seems logical to me to offer the stationary option to any tool, not just for stationary text. I would certainly appreciate having this available. |

I could even imagine it being useful for somebody that has some type of pattern they are looking for and wants that pattern to be on the screen at all times. A dyslexic trader for example may need to have a way to not be confused. SierraChart has no concept for grouping objects, so it might be difficult to select and move a complex drawing, but if the drawing is stationary, it would always be available. Of course, that's a corner case and can be handled with an overlay on some operating systems or with a second monitor or even a sheet of paper. Obviously much nicer if it's on the chart and can be activated with manage objects and turned on and off easily (perhaps when manage objects allows us to group objects and name those grouped objects someday). But giving a stationary property to all objects might be reasonable as a support request and it would make all of this stuff work pretty well, right? |
