Hi there, Am a bit baffled by this issue. Have looked at the documentation, looked at support board answers and have also played around within the settings and still can't figure this out. Have attached a screenshot to show the issue. You will see that the top line highlighted has a trade imbalance of 84/105 , then other highlighted examples are 66/148 and 18/111. However the dominant side on the profile remains with the side that has the least volume. Looking at the example at the top with 84/105, the left side of 84 trades is 3 or 4 times larger than the right side of 105. Even if it is done diagonally with reading taken from the next line as on a DOM, this outsize profile bulge doesn't make any sense at all. How does this happen? I have tried many things and can't get the profile to change at all. Settings are contained within the attachment: Column 1 Text: Bid vol x ask vol Col 1 background type: Ask/bid volume split profile Col 1 background colouring method: Based on separate ask/bid volume-actual Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. I should add that the closest thing I have found to a solution is to change Col 1 background type to Ask/bid volume split profile across Bid and Ask. Still don't think it solves that weird anomaly though? Regards, Bootsyjam |

RE: Ask/Bid Volume Split Profile Both the Ask and Bid Volume profiles are built independently. The profile widths are built by looking at the percentage of the Bid Volume/Ask Volume versus the maximum Bid Volume/Ask Volume depending on whether the profile is for Bid Volume or Ask Volume.
Max bid is 84, therefore 84 is 100% width for bid, all other bid width are derived from this. Max ask is 465, therefore 465 is 100% width for ask, all other ask width are derived from this. So not really an anolmaly, just how the widths are calculated for that particular background type, i.e. independently of one another. Ask/Bid Volume Split Profile Across Bid & Ask uses the maximum of bid or ask, whichever is greater, all other widths are then defined based on this max value, so based on your comments this would be the appropriate background type to use. |

Thanks very much for the replies. Looks like both answers do the same thing so think I'm sorted! You fellas know your stuff... |
