This is for CTS. When that is enabled it allows Sierra Chart and the CTS T4 trading software to be used at the same time on the same computer.

Very useful feature given the recent changes at CME. Can I ask that you publicise this feature a little more e.g. at http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/CTS_T4.php CTS users have received information direct from CTS that using the T4 platform when a FIX session is logged in will "boot" the FIX session, even if it is on the same PC. From the email: "a user will no longer be able to login simultaneously in
T4webtrader/T4mobile and T4Desktop or any FIX API application. Logging in Webtrader or fix based app will boot any other login instance (as the physical pc cannot be determined and hence assumed to be different)." The highlighted portion is not correct. They are not mentioning that passing hardware ID in FIX is supported and therefore that some FIX applications can be run on the same PC as T4Desktop. As a result, I've been spending hours working with my clearing firm to migrate my trading over to other execution platforms. It transpires that this is not necessary after all. Exchange rules should be reformed to allow an individual user to access live market data on a minimum of two devices per subscription. Many cautious traders run an identical backup machine. I run the T4 Desktop software and Sierra Chart together. Until I found this thread, I was working on the information that I would need to buy 4 CTS subscriptions going forward instead of two, and pay 4 sets of exchange fees. For two PCs mounted on a single desk used by 1 user to trade 1 account. For 2015, having 4 subscriptions instead of 2 would have increased my exchange fees by $8,160 just for CME for a total of $16,320 CME fees. In my view this should be only $4,080 for a single manual trader, regardless of how his IT is otherwise configured. (1 set of exchange fees, not 2 or 4) |

We will update our CTS page about this. We only received the method to determine the hardware ID on Friday from CTS. So this is very recent.

For the curious: can you tell us the inputs to the algorithm, if not the algorithm itself?
