Hello,

I'm trying to calculate the angle on the slope of MA in a spreadhseet study on a Renko Chart.
The moving avergae itself looks nice and clean.

To calculate the angle I'm refering myself to the 10 last point of that MA with the following formula :

= ATAN((ID6.SG1@13 - ID6.SG1@3)/10)*180/PI

Where ID6.SG1 is the output of the MA.

Why the result values of the calculation are always in the order of -2 ; -3 or +2 ; +3... It never outputs angles of e.g. 70 degree or 45 degree... I know that the Spreadsheet Angle study output e.g. 78 degrees.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong in the application of the formula.

We just tried this and we are getting the angles as you would expect (28.58, 32.41, etc.). And we do not see anything wrong with your formula, as we used the exact same one with just a change to the ID of the Moving Average.

The only thing we can think is that ID6 is not your Moving Average, but some other study.

Interesting..
I checked again and ID6 is the EMA study.

Is it possible that values I’m getting is due to the fact that I’m on a renko chart ?

The Renko should not matter, as the Price is the only important item. We just tried to ensure that this was not the case, and again, we got what we expected.

Can you attach a Chartbook that has both the Chart and the Spreadsheet in it to this post and we will take a look. You will need to also attach the Spreadsheet itself to this post. Refer to the instructions here:
