Hi, I’m confused about my data plan and the difference between F.US.ESM22 and ESM22_FUT_CME. I currently have Denali (12) with $11/ month for CME w/ market depth. Do I need the full CME group for $33/month? I will be trading the mini ES and am currently trading the micros.

the difference between F.US.ESM22 and ESM22_FUT_CME

The only difference between these items is the name. One is a symbol name for CQG and the other is the symbol name for the Teton Order Routing Service. Actually, the CQG one is incorrect, it should be F.US.EPM22.

Nonetheless, you would use the appropriate symbol depending on the trading service that you have selected. Anytime you change the trading service and you select OK on the Data/Trade Service Settings Window, you are asked if you want to update the Symbols. You should always say "Yes", unless you know you are changing back right away to a previous setting. If you ever forget to do this, then you can always force the update of symbols by selecting Edit >> Translate Symbols to Current Service.

It depends on exactly which instruments you are going to be trading. The ES is part of the CME Exchange. So if that is the only instrument for which you need data, then what you have now is all you need. But, if you want data for the YM, for instance, then this is on the CBOT exchange, so you would need to sign up to get data from that source.

In the end, if you need data from at least 3 of the 4 CME Group exchanges (CME, CBOT, COMEX, and NYMEX), then you are best off activating just the one "Full CME Group", otherwise you are better off just activating the individual exchanges for which you need the data.[/b][/b]
