Hi, I am going to post this on support board as well but thought I'd start here first. I had an expensive error yesterday by a sell stop order that was left in when I got out with a regular sell. So two issues I'd like to discuss and ask if you could make these improvements. YES, I know the error is all mine, but I really think both of these suggestions could help your users not make this same stupid mistake. First, why on the dom somewhere isn't there a small box that would highlight in say bright yellow LIVE ORDERS. The dom must be able to show there are live orders entered on it. I know zero about tech/coding but this must be easily possible. I would assume also this feature could be shut off if people didn't want it. But think of how it could help people who, like stupid me, forgot because they are out of sight on the dom at the time they had resting orders. Of course, one should hit 'cancel all' every time you get up from the screen, but don't you think this would be something easy and useful? Second, and related. I used to have TT when I traded eurodollars. On their dom, you could easily right-click on the order and move it up or down the dom. Why isn't that feature on your dom? Why when say I am long a couple of contracts and I have a stop below can't I simply slide it up to trail my position? Instead, I have to enter another order and make sure I cancel the one below. This is exactly what happened to me yesterday. I was long ES, micros thank god, and I kept moving up my sell stop. I forgot to cancel a stupid 2 lot that the market moved away from. I got out of my longs and forgot the 2 lot stop. I left for a few hours and come back to find my sell stop was hit and I was short with ES SEVENTY points higher. So $750 loss. So you see if either of the above tools had been available I would never have had that order in there(as I'd have been sliding it up as I used to on TT, and if I had left an order in my dom would have had the yellow box saying LIVE ORDER or whatever so I would remember to cancel it. I hope you think these two requests are reasonable and could maybe introduce them. SOON...please...I mean if TT has the slider order tool why don't you? Thank you and I look forward to your reply and any from others in the community. |

so in going thru your support directory you can move ATTACHED only stops and targets, BUT they need the use of a command first then you can move it to your price. Is that right? And from what I can see if I have a non attached stop I can NOT do this, only move it a tick, not move it to the price I choose. Is that right too? If so may I ask why????? May I also ask why you don't have the same SIMPLE easy no brainer function of right click on order(whatever bloody type) and you move it. Easy presto done... why don't you have this function? It is so vital to ease of trading?

On their dom, you could easily right-click on the order and move it up or down the dom. Why isn't that feature on your dom? Do you mean you do not know how to simply modify an order on Sierra Chart's Chart/Trade DOM by dragging it?Instructions are here: Chart Trading and the Chart DOM: Modifying and Canceling Orders on the Chart Specifically refer to: "Changing the Price of an Order: ". @User849502 Another solution is that you create keyboard shortcuts to move stop and target, you can program that on the strem deck. Global Settings--> Customize Keyboard Shotcuts--> Trading Keyboard Shortcuts--> Target Order Tick Up / Down + Stop Order Tick Up / Down |

I am an idiot that for 3 years I never knew this existed. I am gutted as I have lost a lot of opportunities...my bad now what about my idea for somewhere on the dom a little box would highlight when there are live orders on it? If you have the option of shutting it off then it wouldn't bother anyone but I bet quite a few would like that reminder. What is your feedback on this? Thank you |
