I updated to the new version and my orders stopped showing on my main instance when I place an order on my subinstance (DOM). I checked that the orders show up on the Trade Orders window but on the DOM it does not appear for some reason, I have checked the trade accounts and they match as well. Are you able to help with this?

Check to see if the option Trade >> Only Orders From Chart is enabled on the window where you are not able to see the orders. Refer to the following: Trade Menu: Only Orders From Chart (Trade menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

And the symbols for both the charts is the same? Is this a live trade or a Simulation trade? If these are simulation orders, then is the Sub-Instance in Simulation mode or not? The symbols are both the same in the charts, these are simulation orders. Both the main and subinstance have simulation mode on.

Since both the Main and the Sub-Instance are both in Simulation mode, then they are each acting as their own system and will not talk to each other about Simulated Orders. In order to have both the Sub-Instance the Main Instance show the information for a trade, the Sub-Instance would need to NOT be in Simulation mode. This will then send the orders to the Main Instance for processing, which will be in Simulation mode. What if the main instance is the DOM and the sub-instance are charts? I tried all of the possibilities of changing the simulation mode on both sub instances and main, but still have no luck in getting the sim orders in the DOM to be shown on the chart

Keep in mind that the Sub-Instance will not show any trades that are done in the Main Instance. Just the other way around. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. You can also see in the sub instance the orders from the main instance through Trade >> Trade Orders Window. This is very first thing to do is to check there.

My intent is to have the Datafeed connected in main instance which has my DOM chartbook where I execute from and have the charts in a sub instance. I wanted to test new strategies and tried executing orders on the DOM (my main instance) and have orders show up on the sub-instance (my charts). The trade orders are going through but the charts are not displaying order fills. I have tried all the combinations of turning simulation on/off in between the main and sub-instances: * Main DOM Simulation Mode ON, Sub Instance Simulation Mode OFF * Main DOM Simulation Mode OFF, Sub instance Simulation Mode ON * Main DOM Simulated, Sub Instance Simulated * Main DOM Simulation Mode ON, Sub Instance Simulation Mode ON |

In the sub instance Trade >> Trade Simulation Mode must always be off in this case. And then on the chart in the sub instance, make sure to set it to the same symbol and same Trade Account as the main instance. And check the Trade >> Trade Orders Window that you see the orders there in the sub instance. That is the first step. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Both symbols are the same (F.US.EPH22), I tried to change the trade account in the sub-instance but it defaults back to my live account as simulation mode is off. Is there a way to change the account without Sierrachart undo-ing the change?

Resolved the issue: Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance: Second Method 3. Ensure that the setting for Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> Select Non Sim Trade Account on Entering Non-Sim Mode in Sub Instances in the sub instance is set to No. This needs to be enabled in the sub instance and not the main instance of Sierra Chart. Thank you for your help! |

I have a similar situation and want confirmation of my toggles on/off of settings on MAIN and Instance #2 & #3. If it matters, I use Teton CME Order Routing. --I have confirmed that all contracts from Instance #2 and #3 are the same contracts for those on MAIN but with different timeframes. --I use the MAIN with higher timeframe charts. Instance #2 and Instance #3 have lower timeframe Charts and their DOM used for order entry. --I want the MAIN charts to show the Chart Trades that I enter on the Instances #2 or #3 where their respective Trading Dom with lower timeframe charts are located. REQUEST #1: INSTRUCTIONS for when I am trading in SIMULATED mode, ie. what should be toggled on/off on MAIN/INSTANCE #2/INSTANCE #3 on the various menus. REQUEST #2: INSTRUCTIONS for what to change for LIVE trading mode for MAIN/INSTANCE #2/INSTANCE #3 and if any changes are made in the Data/Trade Service Settings. I do see the area on the TRADE WINDOW attached to the DOM for rolling to the live account. Thanks |

1. The main instance needs to have Trade Simulation Mode on but the sub instances this needs to be off. 2. Trade Simulation Mode needs to be disabled on all instances. And make sure that the selected trade account is correct on the Trade Windows: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main/C >> Trade Account (Selecting Trade Account for Chart / Trade DOM) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
