Duplicate Chart not copying all of the Drawings

I and another user 'friend' are both using Sierra Charts applications on different computers, only slightly different versions of the application. When I use the "Duplicate Chart" feature, I get a chart with ALL of the DRAWING OBJECTS also duplicated on the chart. This is exactly what I want. When my friend attempts the same feature, he gets a duplicated chart, but gets NONE of the DRAWING OBJECTS. We have compared all of our Global Settings, Drawing Tools Settings, etc. and we cannot find what is causing the difference in behavior. We do not know what else to try to get his system to behave like mine. Any ideas? I am on Version 2275, and he is on version 2339. Both 64-bit. |

Operator error? 2339 works fine here. Are the drawings actually on the chart being copied, or reference from another chart? |

I don't believe it was operator error - the only operation is to select Chart->Duplicate and look at the new chart that appears. I checked on my system to see if they are references or copies. I believe they are copies for the following reasons. 1) The LineNumber id's for the drawings on both charts are identical, which initially made me concerned they were referencing the same objects. However, I tested deleting and modifying the objects on one chart, and the changes had no effect on the 2nd chart. 2) I checked the value of the Chart Settings->Advanced Settings2->Copy chart drawings from Chart #. It is blank. So, I still think there should be another setting or settings that are directing the behavior of Duplicate Charts feature that can be tweaked. If anyone has an idea, I would appreciate the input. |

The Chart Drawings are copied when charts are duplicated. Check the drawings in Tools >> Manage Chart Drawings Window before the duplicate. After the duplicating the chart, open this window for the duplicated chart. They should be identical. I have some more information on this, but still no conclusion. On the system with 2339, when he performs a Chart->Duplicate, he gets Drawing objects on the duplicated chart which are created via ASCIL where I have created the object using s_UseTool::AllowSaveToChartbook = 0. All of the objects that I create using s_UseTool::AllowSaveToChartbook = 1 do NOT show up on his duplicated chart. I get both sets of objects (e.g. all of them). Is this any help in determining what setting we should look for that affects the Duplicate Chart functionality on his system? |

I found some additional evidence. If I set the field s_UseTool::AllowCopyToOtherCharts, it works on both systems (i.e. both versions of SierraCharts are able to fully duplicate the window and all associated drawings I created.) My conclusion is that since I am currently using an older version of Sierracharts, perhaps the newer version was fixed to make sure this field was set correctly before allowing a drawing to be duplicated, whereas the older version did not check it.
