I have read this thread Prevent TICK SIZE from updating on charts linked on 'SYMBOL' only and understand the reasoning for resetting tick size when the symbol changes, and the new checkbox in Advanced Settings 3. However, if I have set the tick size on a chart (like a footprint chart) and Duplicate that chart, the Tick Size resets. I do not believe it should during a Duplicate Chart operation as the symbol is not changing, and the expectation is a Duplicated chart is 100% the same as the chart from which it was duplicated. This also causes issues when you share a chartbook with someone with a custom Tick Size (like a footprint chart). |

I just encountered an issue with this. I have an NQ numbers bar chart with the tick size set to 50 for long-term analysis. I duplicated this chart and the tick size for the new chart automatically reset to 0.25, which is a 200x increase. The new chart was unreadable and performed poorly until I discovered the problem. This is not a major issue, but it can be confusing if the user isn't aware of it. |

There are far far more consequences to not having the Tick Size set correctly for the chart when changing the symbol. In your case just do not change the symbol.

Sierra Chart Engineering, The whole point of this thread is that duplicating a chart does not change the symbol. Therefore, the tick size should remain unchanged. |
