Hi.

1. I'm building new trading PC. What CPU would be better for SC, i5 12600K or i7 12700K?

2. Is SC using single thread or multiple threads (I have very basic understanding of this)?

3. Also has anyone encountered any problems with SC while using those new CPUs?

4. Is SC using GPU or just CPU? I saw a post where someone mentioned that SC doesn't use GPU, just CPU.

Thank you.

SC doesn't draw high CPU usage, I think more importantly are all of the components.
Ram at least 16 g (I have 32)
Solid state hard drive (at least 256g)
Good quality video card (how many monitors are you going to run?) I am running 2 50" 4 k tv's for charts and a 32" monitor for order entry. I have a GeForce 1660Ti card.

I am just running 6 candlestick charts with a few indicators CPU usage is 2%

Obviously it depends on how you are going to use SC.

What CPU and components are you running now and what is the CPU usage?

Both would be sufficient for day trading. Neither will make a difference in trade execution speed. Neither can make one a better trader.

4. Both are used. In general you cannot trust as fact what users say on this board.

Right now I run Intel i7-7700, GTX 1060 6GB with 32GB RAM. I have 4 monitors. 2 1440p and 2 1080p. I don't have any problems running SC with all my charts.
Occasionally I will get slowdown or SC will freeze for 2-4 seconds when there's a lot of orders going through, like stop run or end of day trading.
Normally CPU is at 4% and GPU around 14%.

My current PC is Dell and I want to upgrade GPU, but it's nearly impossible to do so with dell's proprietary MOBO and case.

I am considering one of the above mentioned Intel's 12th gen CPUs for new build. Want to see if there are any issues when it comes to SC and the Intel 12th gen CPU.
Not just CPU itself, but also Windows 11 as it is recommended to use with the new CPU.

Can someone using Win 11 confirm if there are any issues or not? Preferably with Intel 12th gen CPU.

Thank you.

We would always recommend the fastest CPU. Should not be any problems with Windows 11.

No definitely no issues:
