Why does the daily candle not show the last price as closing price but the settlement price? Can I change this setting to the Settlement Price? If yes how? |

Hi. I have a similar question. I have line for the prior close on my 12 tick renko chart to reference the prior close using the OHLC study on the prior day. I noticed this isn't the prior close, but rather the prior settle. I would like to keep the prior settle, but how would I add reference for the prior close so I can use both as reference points? |

To get the prior close you would need to create a daily chart using Intraday Only data. Refer to the following: Differences With Data and Chart Bars Between Services / Connections / Chart Types: 43.6 - Differences Between Close Prices on Historical Daily Charts Compared to Intraday Charts For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Okay, my renko is intraday and built I have a intraday daily chart as well. Those pClose prices match, but I checked with the CME page and they didn't match the settlement price. After what you told me, this would make sense since it is the closing price. I then built a historical daily chart and this price matched the settlement price. This was a misunderstanding on my part. The reason I came to the conclusion that I was getting settlement is because my pClose price was often different than traders I trade with. I have verified session times with them and they matched. I looked it up and found that SC is default settlement price, but didn't realize that is specific to historical charts. Is the difference in price because of different data providers? Sometimes it could be a few points apart, that's why I'm asking. |

If you are asking about the difference in price between Historical and Intraday data, then that is not due to different data providers. It is just due to how the exchanges send the information. The daily data is just sent as Open/High/Low/Close/Volume, so the last update for the day the Close that is given is the Settlement price. This is not the case with the Intraday data from the exchanges, they just give the trade information and the price of that last trade. No, that I understand. I was asking the difference between my close and fellow traders.
