Hi,

My PC quit on 11/30. I was able to order a new machine right away but they sent the wrong adapters for the monitors and today I finally received the correct adapters. I think you'll be able to see I haven't logged in since the 30th. I'm trying to load all data from an external HD to SC's. I've downloaded SC's (off the internet) to the new machines HD. I want to import this data from the old machines HD that I had kept current on an external HD. I'm running 6 monitors and am trying to have the same setup I had on the failed machine. Most of the files are in scid and dly formats. There are also ASC_Source, AlertSounds, Bakups, ChartbookGroups, MarketDepthData, folders etc., etc., some having files in also. Is it even possible to do this? I see from the SC documentation that maybe it could be done file by file but how would you know if the data should go under the "Data Files Folder" or the "Chart Image Folder?" Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

Thanks for that advice. I followed those instructions and have got the correct Chartbook from my latest backup on the new PC up, but I can't get any data to show. I normally have the Denali data feed for my data and order entry on SC's, but I think this is a demo/sim data feed having downloaded the 2335 version on the new PC. I went to the "3.4 - Not Receiving Real-Time Data From Data Feed" section of the documentation but I think this has to do with the upload to the new machine. Cash mkt symbols are showing data but not charting. For example, the NYSE Tick, A/D line and Net Vol are showing data in its right column but there no charting. The futures charts are blank. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks...

Hi,

My futures broker is Stage 5. Do I have to fill out the request form to request the clearing firm to add my trading account to the SC company TT FIX connection for order routing? This has all been done years ago. Going to the Account Control Panel, all that looks complete.

Thanks...

No, you do not need to go through the filling out of the form. Just go through the items that relate to setting up your Sierra Chart software - basically starting at step #8 and going through the rest of them.

Once you have your system setup properly for the trading service, then you should get the data flowing.

Hi,

I'm trying to set up the Data/Trade Service Settings but the current window in SC's is very different than the one in the documentation. I'm using:

Service: SC/TT Futures Order Routing [trading]
Primary Server: Server 2 (This is the lowest latency but I live north of Chicago so should I use "1" here?
Backup Server 1: Server 1 (If not used above)
Backup Server 2: Server 3 (There is no Server 4 option, only 1-3. Using 3. Is that OK?)
Use UAT Port (For testing only. Not live!): No (Using No, there is no "false" option)
Intraday Download Interval For Non Realtime Symbols In Minutes: (What would you use here?)

Saved DTS Configuration
DTS Config (List) What would you use here for the "Load, Save and Delete"?

I want to be sure on this trying not to mess anything up...

Thanks

Sorry for the changes in the window. We are in the process of replacing all the dialog windows with our own, and some have changed, some have not, and keeping up with the documentation is a bit daunting.

You have everything setup correctly.

For Intraday Download Interval for Non Realtime Symbols in Minutes enter "20". This is not terribly important, it just controls how often updates will occur for symbols you are not getting in real-time, such as U.S. Stocks.

for Save DTS Configuration just leave that alone. That is only if you are going to be changing your Service Settings on a regular basis, where you can save the settings so you can just select them and have them load in.

If you need it, the information on the new Sierra Chart windows and how to interact with them can be found here:

Hi,

Thanks for all the info and advice. The charting is working now but I'm seeing a problem with data after 17:00, for example on a 30 minute chart. It's currently 7:41 PM CST here but the 30 minute charts are showing it's 1:41 AM, 6 hours later. We have way too many bars showing. The RTH session looks OK however, the problem appears just after 17:00. I have the session times split between 08:30:00 - 15:59:59 (for RTH) and 17:00:00 - 08:29:59. Any ideas on this?

Also, there's a small data window that I use that I can't find for the life of me how to activate it. It's not the "Chart Values Window" but a small window with only Open, High, Low, Close, Volume, etc.. I know it's right here but I can't figure it out.

Thanks

Check the time zone setting:
Time Zone Setting

Here is the documentation for the Compact Tool Values Window:
Chart Drawing Tools: Compact Tool Values Window

Also Dorman should move your account to the new Teton order routing service. Please ask your broker to do that. Documentation:
Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing

They may not do this right away but at least express your interest in having this done. This is very important.
