Volume Per Bar Chart Scrolling issue

I have a volume per bar chart. As new data comes in, the bar automatically scrolls to the left BEFORE price it is anywhere near the right side of the chart so I have to continually scroll it back real time to keep the start of the chart on the screen. And I can't use Chart -> Chart Setting -> Lock Fill Space because the chart and it's study start at 8:30, so if I keep price on the left I end up including the prior days price and study which is on a totally different scale than the current day. Can you change the volume per bar charts to fill up to the right before scrolling left just like a regular price based chart does? Thanks |

As long as the fill space is not locked and you have added fill space on the right side of the chart, then it will fill in as chart bars are added. The behavior of this is not any different based upon the type of chart bars. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. No - the behavior IS DIFFERENT. While it is filling up on the right, the LEFT side is still disappearing BEFORE the right side is filled up. I can send you a recording if you like. But open up a 100 volume chart on ES on the open and watch.

It could not be any different. You would need to provide a video recording. In the video you also need to show us that Chart >> Lock Fill Space is disabled. Can you view this format (You can download a free lite version of BB Flash Back to view - with key strokes - or I can convert it to a different format). The volume chart is on the bottom. You will see the seconds (hour and minute is hidden off the chart), in the very far left corner incrementing as the chart scrolls left while price is fairly stationary. The first grey line is after one minute and the second grey line is after 2 minutes (which corresponds with the BidxAsk 1 minute chart directly above it). Finally after 2 minutes I manually scrolled back left to uncover chart that scrolled off the left on it's own. Let me know if you have any questions.

When we extracted the AVI file from the zip file that you gave us a link to by email, the media player said there was an error playing it. Something like an unexpected error. It was nonspecific.

Yes we got it and we understand now why this happens. It has to do with when more than one bar is added to the chart during an update.
