hi ... I've had Sierra charts service for years, and had numerous time frame charts for Corn (C#), Soybeans (S#), Canola (RS#), etc.. etc., which I hadn't used much since the end of Q1 in 2021. Decided to go back and update and review those charts, and found most/all of the grains/oilseeds stopped receiving data as of the end of May 2021 ,and Gold and Silver at the end of June 2021. Going to the "File", "find symbol" search only brings up individual CBOT and CME futures month contracts into 2023, with no option for the cash and/or continuous charts. Definitely put a lot of work into those older charts for future time and price targets ... so sure hope there is a way to update existing files. Thx

You need to use the Continuous Futures Contract option and then set those charts to the current contract. Refer to the information here: Continuous Futures Contract Charts For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I'm trying to get the continuous futures contract charts loaded up, as per your information link sent yesterday. I have just done a fast update to version 2333, and have completed step 4 of the step by step instructions. Regarding (Global settings >> data trade service settings >> common settings >> download total volume for all contracts for futures daily data) ... my system was already set at no. When I then try to do step 5 ... (File >> connect to data feed) on the menu, that option is very faint and barely illuminated, and I can not get it to highlight/engage. Note my current selected service shown under the main settings tab in global settings is set at "SC Data - All Services {data}" ... which is where it was set prior to doing the fast update. Cant progress any further, look forward to your advice. Thx

If the option for File >> Connect to Data Feed is not selectable, then that means that you are already connected to the data feed, so you can skip that line of the instructions.

Ok, I skipped that step and complete the rest of the steps. As stated in the first post in this thread, I wanted to be able to continue the charting I had already established for my cash grains, oilseeds, metals, crude oil, etc. commodity charts which all used the # in their symbol ID, and which the data stopped in May - June 2021. Unfortunately these continuous charts do not extend those previous charts at all. They only show the daily O/H/L/C bars for the one specified contract month ... and even then the price bars are extremely small ranges. At least that appears on my screen when trying to use the Jan Soybeans as the nearby. I lose all the time counts, Gann angles, price projections that were overlaid on those cash charts when I switch to the continuous version. When I go back to calling the chart S# monthly, then all previous overlays reappear again. Either I'm doing something wrong in getting the continuous data to connect to the old cash data... or there is no free cash chart data available anymore through Sierra. Is there cash data supplied by any of the data services that have user fees attached? Appreciate the help.

The symbols you used to use are no longer supported. You need to use the new symbols with the Continuous Futures Contract setup as you have done. As to the drawing tools not showing, that is not a surprise, as the drawings are tied to the symbol, but they are still there, just not displaying. The easiest solution to this is to enable the setting for each chart Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings 2 >> Show Chart Drawings for Different Symbol. Refer to the documentation at the following link for this: Chart Settings: Show Chart Drawings For Different Symbols (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Chart Drawings menu) Or you can change the symbol for each drawing by going to Tools >> Manage Chart Drawings, use the Select All option and then select the button for Edit Symbol and then change the symbol to the current one in use. Refer to the following for this: Chart Drawing Tools: Manage Chart Drawings The next time you go to rollover the symbol to the next contract by selecting Chart >> Perform Futures Symbol Rollover you would then want to select the option for Also Rollover Chart Drawing Symbols. Ok and for any of this to work, I will need to upgrade my subscription to include the Denali Exchange Data Feed (which I have not done yet)? I guess I did not read the highlighted section in the introduction to continuous futures contract charts. I assume that is why missing data for trading days since May 2021 were not showing up. I also gather I am going to go through all these steps for each individual commodity chart I have? Like some 800+ commodity charts?

Ok and for any of this to work, I will need to upgrade my subscription to include the Denali Exchange Data Feed (which I have not done yet)? No, you do not since you are using SC Data-All Services in Sierra Chart. If you have any missing data in the chart, post an image of the chart following these instructions: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=PostingInformation.php#PostingAnImage If you really have 800 individual charts, you will need to update the symbol of those charts, to the corresponding current futures contract symbol. You can change this through Chart >> Chart Settings >>Symbol >> Find >>Futures - (Exchange). Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
