Parallel replay on CPU and GPU

I am running 2 Sierra Chart instances, each with 19 sub-instances so a total of 40 Sierra Charts in parallel on an AWS EC2 machine with 64 CPUs.

The CPU usage is below 80% but the replay runtime on each parallel instance is 5-6 times more than the case when just one non-parallel instance is replaying.

The purpose of parallel replay is for hyperparameter tuning.

Does anyone know why the replay speed gets so low when the number of parallel instances increases although hardware resources are not full?

Disappointed by an efficient parallel run on CPU machines, any ideas on how to run Sierra Chart in parallel on GPU and if this helps in terms of replay speed?

We believe the issue is at the operating system level related to file I/O.

The issue is not within Sierra Chart itself.

What we can try to do is periodically close and reopen the Intraday data file after so many megabytes of data is read. And see if that helps.

Thanks for the hint. It seems to be the case.

However, I don't have an idea how to check for "reading so many megabytes of data (in Windows cmd?) and periodically closing and reopening the intraday data file (in ACSIL?)".

Can you please elaborate on these?

This is something we have to implement within Sierra Chart, the automatic closing and reopening of the file. We will work on that.

@SCE
any update about "automatic closing and reopening of the file"?

There potentially was an issue with this and we did not have further time to look into it. So it is not currently supported.
