I tried to use the moving average smoothed study and then on the Vortex study, I said to base it on the moving average thinking it would smooth it out. But it did not work as it just made the Vortex study blank. Is there any way to add a option in the Vortex study to be able to smooth it out? or do you know of a way that I could accomplish that.

You should be able to do exactly what you were thinking. Just make sure that in the Moving Average, you set the Based On to the Vortex study and then the Input Data to either VI+ or VI-. Also, make sure that the Region for the Moving Average is set to the same as the Vortex study (or another non-existent region, just not Region 1). Keep in mind, you will need two copies of the Moving Average study to apply once to the VI+ and another for VI-.
