I need to label a line (multiple lines) and have the label stay with the line, on the right of the screen, no matter what. The "type text" command allows the text to scroll horizontally with time movement. and the "stationary text" allows the text to move vertically with the price movement. I need the text locked to the line drawing no matter what. Is this possible? Thanks.

When I right click on the line I want to label, the "modify text" selection is shaded out. (Non functional, can't click on it.)
The lines are extended, so I don't have to redraw them every day, I just move them. Overnight high, overnight low, etc.

We will add support for text labels for Ray drawings. This will be out in the next release.

No, just using the "line" tool. I can label the line prior to extending it, but when I hit "extend drawing" the label disappears.
Extending the line is the only way I can stop it from scrolling with the chart, as the chart advances.

In other words, I CAN draw lines with labels, but as time advances, I have to keep manually extending the lines to the right throughout the day. (to keep the labels on the right.)

Ok. Thanks. Is there any way I can be notified when this feature is added?

It is supported in the current version of Sierra Chart to add a label to a Ray Chart Drawing.

However, the label will always be at the first point of the drawing.

Thanks for your help. I cannot upgrade to the latest version because I'm running a 32 bit system. However, I figured it out on my current version 2138.

Using the horizontal ray tool, extension to the right, adjust to whatever color/style you want. Then right click the drawing and "modify text."

The text label stays in the right margin space (attached to the ray/line) no matter what happens with the chart. Doesn't matter if you scroll, if the chart advances over time, or if you switch to the overnight session. The line and label stays.

I have included a screen shot.

When I use Modify text to add text to a line, it is left justified. Where can I alter this so it's on the right side of the line? I looked through the "modify text" for drawings but no mention of left/right justification.

Thanks.

If it is available to be changed, then it will be in the Drawing Properties. For a Line drawing, it is available in the Drawing Properties under the Label tab.

John,

Is it possible in the future to add the functionality of being able too load said text in the line properties box like under labels tab? So you don't have to go to two separate places one for location anchors and date time and then close out and go to modify text to add text?

Thanks in advance for the consideration..

Has there been any further work on this?
Being able to draw a horizontal line with a label at the right edge of the chart is a standard feature in other charting software.

Sierra Chart is amazingly customisable, but this simple feature is missing.
Would be great to if this could be added.

Thanks.

Just discovered you can achieve this with the Horizontal Lines study.
Not as straight forward as drawing but gets the job done!
