Bug: drawing is lost if chart reloads while inserting new text

Hi, I would like to report a very minor but very irritating bug. I have several toolbar buttons for adding text to my chart. Some are text tools and some are other drawing tools, such as Arrow, which have "Prompt for text" enabled. If my chart reloads while I am using one of these tools, my text is lost and the drawing never appears after I click OK. I have had to re-type my text up to 3 or 4 times due to the chart reloading for various reasons (reload triggered by another chart, another reload triggered because it finished updating, etc). This slows down my daily scanning process significantly. Thanks for your time. |

Just to make sure we understand correctly. You start the drawing by selecting the Control Bar button and then left-clicking for the initial point placement, then your chart reloads for whatever reason before you can select a second left-click to finish the drawing. Then after the reload, you are in a state as if you never started the drawing? If we use an Arrow with "prompt for text" enabled as an example, here is the sequence of events: 1. Click the toolbar button to select the tool 2. Click once on the chart for initial placement (in this case, beginning of arrow) 3. Click somewhere else on the chart to complete the arrow drawing 4. The 'Enter text' dialog opens, and I start typing my text 5. While I am doing this, something causes the chart to reload 6. I finish entering my text and click 'OK' 7. The text I entered does not appear, and the entire arrow drawing disappears instead |

I should note that I did just test this with your scenario John (i.e. the chart reloading while drawing a normal (no text) arrow) and it does in fact cause the arrow to disappear. Therefore it would seem that chart reloading disrupts all 'drawings in progress', not just drawings with text.

This is not considered a bug. This is just how it is. This is not going to change. Although we would not expect this to happen with that scenario you are describing so we will look at that.
