I am running parallel backtests on Sierra Chart instances. If I am using one main SC and up to 15 instances, the backtests are running with a regular speed but if I go to more than 15, like 30, instances; the backtest performance degrades substantially on many of the instances and they barely move forward. I wonder if there is a limit on the simultaneous number of SC instances to backtest. I also tried two main SC each with 15 instances to backtest at the same time (in parallel) but again see the low performance. |

There is no limit.
So why backtesting gets too slow when there are more than 15 instances? The replay chart on many of the instances gets stuck. |

This has to do with operating system and hardware performance.

I don't think so. The server has 64 CPUs and 128GB of RAM. Less than 30% of the hardware resources are busy when doing the backtests on 30 instances. The issue seems to be from the SC side. Have you ever tried backtesting on this number of instances at the same time? Thanks! |

We definitely cannot provide further help. And you cannot make the conclusion that you are especially being you are not considering the system file I/O performance. The issue is not on the Sierra Chart side. It simply could not be. Each installation of Sierra Chart is fully separate from others. If there is an issue, you need to look at your system. Install more NVME drives on your system, and do not put more than two or three instances of Sierra Chart on each one. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
