Custom symbol issue

I have an issue related to creating custom symbols. I am trying to create an index containing many assets, but since this involves many operators and symbols, the number of characters of the created symbol generates an error that does not allow opening the created symbol: "Path and filename for Intraday data file to long. File not opened". Is it possible to get around this issue in any way? like change the names of symbols used to smaller names or something like that? I appreciate any attempt to help.
