I'm using the VbP study on a chart that includes an extended session (CME futures, 08:30 to 15:00 and 15:00 to 08:30). When I have "Use Extended Session" selected I do want to be able to view the Overnight profile, so Input 42 is set to Yes, and Input 66 is set to No. Although I want to see the POC for the Overnight session, I do not want to extend it. I do want to extend the Day Session POC Until Further Intersection. I thought I might install separate studies for the Day and Extended sessions, but I seem to recall that you cannot install more than one instance of VbP on a chart. I also looked at Volume Value Area Lines, but you cannot extend those. Is there a way for me to extend the day session POC, but not the Overnight? If not, could you add "Extend until further intersection to the Volume Value Area Lines study perhaps? Or perhaps include a selection to "show day session only" Value Area lines/POC? Thanks. |

First, your statement about not having multiple Volume by Price studies on a chart is incorrect. You can have multiples of this study (there are others, like the TPO, which you can not). Therefore, you could use the option of Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time for the Graph Period Type in order to setup one VbP study for the Day session and another VbP study for the Evening session. Just keep in mind that when setting the Evening Session, you will need to set the Input for Use Different Start Time to Yes. Refer to the following for the Graph Period Type: Volume By Price Study: Multiple Profiles from Start Time to End Time And refer to the following for the Use Different Start Time Input: Volume By Price Study: Use Different Start Time For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
