Sierra Chart ver 2288 64-bit
Windows 10

I use SC Number Bars (footprint charts) with equities. My Global Symbol Settings for equities is set at a default Volume at Price Mult of 1.
For certain higher priced, thinner names (i.e. TSLA, GME, DOCU, etc) I would like these specific symbols - and only these specific symbols - to use a Volume at Price Mult of 10 instead of 1.

I tried creating custom Global Symbol Settings for these stocks and set their Volume at Price Mult at 10, which works.

However, when I switch the chart back to a more liquid stock that is lower priced, the chart does not return to the default Volume at Price of 1, it remains at the setting of 10.

How do I make SC always default to my default Volume at Price Mult of 1 tick except for specific stocks I explicitly want to always chart at a Volume at Price value of 10 ticks?

Ex: I load NIO and my Volume at Price Mult is correctly set at 1. I switch symbols to TSLA, and my Volume at Price Mult correctly changes to 10. I switch back to NIO, but my chart does not revert back to Volume at Price Mult of 1 -- it stays at 10.

Thank you in advance.

The problem is that you only created special Symbol Settings for the stocks where you want the Volume at Price Multiplier to be 10. Therefore, when you are switching back, the system does not know that you want to change that setting.

You would have to create at least one symbol with special Symbol Settings that has the Volume at Price Multiplier set to 1. Then you would change to that/those symbols. If you just do one, you would need to change to that symbol first, then change to the one you want.

Hi John, thank you for the quick reply.

My assumption was that the Global Symbol Settings for ?, ??, ???, ????, and ????? (all equities wild card settings) would satisfy that requirement?

For example if NIO uses the settings from ??? and Global Symbol Settings for ??? is Volume at Price Mult of 1, why wouldn't it switch back to 1 if I switch to NIO?

RESOLVED

Simply set all of the wildcard global symbol settings Volume At Price Mult from "default" to "custom" = 1. This appears to FORCE the chart to switch back to the defaults.
