I know that chart replay currently updates every second. It would be helpful if you could upgrade the replay feature to update down to the millisecond. Are there any plans to do this? Thanks. |

This is already supported. The speed at which you see a replay occur at, depends upon the timeframe of the data records in the file, the replay speed, the time stamping of those records, and the Chart Update Interval. Much of this is explained here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ReplayChart.html#Notes We also see you are using DTN IQ Feed. We recommend considering the Sierra Chart Real-time and Historical Exchange Data feed instead: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php If the particular exchanges you are interested in are not currently supported, let us know what they are. Thank you. I am glad to hear that feature already exists. If I understand correctly, it means that the replay should basically appear as it does in real-time. What I am seeing currently is that chart and T&S windows are updating at roughly 1 second intervals. Data between updates are being processed by active studies. However I am not seeing those updates as they happen - only in said 1 second intervals. My relevant settings based on your reply are as follows: Download Historical Intraday Data As: Ticks Intraday Data Storage Time Unit: 1 Tick Replay Speed: 1 Chart Update Interval in milliseconds: 20 These settings give me fluent updates when using real-time data. Are there any other other settings I need to change? Thanks. As you mention IQFeed is one of the data feeds I am using. I am considering supplementing that with the SC feed. In that regard I have a few questions (I can post these in a new thread if you wish but here they are): 1) Would using the SC data feed provide access to any new data feeds in ACSIL compared to for example IQFeed (you mention the aggressor field elsewhere and I am primarily thinking of new data in the book)? 2) Do you provide connection points in Europe to avoid routing Eurex signals through the US? Thanks again. |

With the Replay Speed of 1 and with how the millisecond time stamping is done in Sierra Chart, it will seem like an update is every second, in many cases. 1. No. Not sure specifically what you are looking for though. 2. No. Not really sure how using a connect point in Europe would make any practical difference unless you need very low latency. Thanks SC. So, as mentioned in the OP please consider this as a feature request, ie. have chart replay bars plot like they do in real-time. Thanks again. |
