Can Orders Trigger Orders? Forgive me if I missed the documentation. Is it possible for an order to trigger another order upon target met? For example, say I *manually* place on the chart my first bracket limit order with a stop/target of 8 ticks. Is it possible that upon reaching the target of 8 ticks and taking profit, that Sierra can subsequently and *automatically* place another limit order at the current price with a different stop/target of say 5 ticks? And again, if I wanted to continue to scale into that position, could that second order upon its target met then trigger an additional third order with say stop/target of 3 ticks. Essentially, is it possible to "chain together" a series of orders enabling one to scale into a position, and if so, how would I go about accomplishing this? Thanks in advance for any answers as well as pointing me to any documentation I might have missed! |

Just updating for other folks interested in figuring out the same thing. It's seems based on the documentation I found here: Attached Orders: Scaling In ...that Attached Orders with Attached Orders is not supported. It is not supported to use Attached Orders which are attached to another Target or Stop Attached Order.
Instead what you need to do is submit a new independent order at the same price and side as the existing Target or Stop order and that new order needs to have its own Attached Orders. This order can be entered using the Chart DOM, Chart Trading or through the Trade Window. So it sounds like, if I wanted to be "hands off" with this... I would need to try and figure this out using Automated Trading from Advanced Custom Study? Essentially, am I correct that this can be achieved programmatically? If this is the case, any beautiful, generous souls out there with some code they can please share to help me preserve what little hair I have left? Thanks friends! :) |

... I would need to try and figure this out using Automated Trading from Advanced Custom Study? Yes this is correct.Essentially, am I correct that this can be achieved programmatically? Yes this is correct.Should be relatively simple to do. Just a matter of monitoring for the filling of the Target or Stop order. And then submitting additional orders.
