1) Exit SC & closing app is very slow. I've seen this issue started since version 2282 and continuing to version 2296 but didn't report it. During exit, something is displayed at the top "not responding". See my image & test chart attached below. No custom studies are involved. Previous versions do not exhibit this problem. 2) Volume profile displays grey color during replay if you using jump command (by time) to load the replay. I didn't check any other jump commands. The only way to reset the VBP color is to exit the SC app completely. I only check w/ version 2296. Didn't use replay before so I have no idea if this problem exists in previous versions. |

We are not able to reproduce either issue using your chartbook. The time to exit from Sierra Chart is reasonable and when we run a replay and skip forward in time the Volume by Price profiles keep the proper coloring. The only thing we can think of is to check your disk space to make sure you have enough room for saving files. Thank John for looking into it. 1) I have 285GB left on my drive C & it's PCIe NvMe 4.0 (my test drive. The trading chart sits on drive D all by itself (same kind of drive 2TB in space & exhibits same problem) so it shouldn't be any problem w/ disk space & speed. 2) Sorry it wasn't clear. It's a jump backward so I can rewatch the previous 5 min again. If you guys can't duplicate the problem then I will think of something later. In the meantime, I don't think it has any effect at all. Just a bit inconvenience. |

My SC has been very slow on exiting, as well, showing the same 'Not Responding'in the title bar and Task Manager. (And I, also, haven't reported it before, but it has been happening for a few months, IIRC) I've moved the files from one NVMe drive to another and it has the same slowness while closing. My task manager shows no excess CPU usage nor Disk IO, if that helps. Is there a way to save/get the message log text after SC has shut down? (I'm hoping that this might show something, timing-wise) |

1. This may be a hardware level issue. What we want you to do is see if you notice the same problem when you select File >> Save All. Sierra Chart, tells the operating system, to flush the file buffers and if that is taking time on your system it will freeze Sierra Chart. 2. See if the problem goes away when you increase the Ticks per Volume Bar: Volume By Price Study: Ticks Per Volume Bar If so, this is a color settings issue. You would want to make the volume bar outline color the same as the volume bar fill color. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. 1) File >> Save All is instant as is chartbook exits in 2nd instance. I closed the submitted chartbook w/o exiting SC also created that problem. On the other hand, I have a new chartbook created w/ version 2286 that didn't exhibit this issue. Other chartbooks using in the main instance & 2nd instance were all created back in 2020. The submitted chartbook is a save-as w/ stripping all custom studies of the old chartbook. 2) I couldn't duplicate the condition by just jumping back & forth. What I had before is playing it for sometimes as normal usage. W/ the exception of VBP issue, my group also has several people reporting the mini frozen exhiting issue as I do, so you know it's not an isolated case. As it is now, it could be anything so it's hard to pinpoint where is the culprit. Since it's not really essential in our trading, I will look into gathering more info. Thanks for your time again. |

I fixed my 'slow exiting' by going back to version 2280. The newer logs have quite a few 'WSACleanup called' entries. Since there has been no movement here, I'll open a separate board message. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-08-30 16:22:16
