For almost the entirety of Sierra Chart's existence, users have wondered about and asked for a option chain display in SC. I wanted to ask what is the core reason for not providing it? As the support has pointed out time and again, we can both chart an option price and use the DOM to trade it. Which is excellent, but getting to that part quickly is just so difficult. Consider: As of today, for just one symbol, ESU21, there are 35 different expiries trading, with multiple hundred of strikes of calls & puts for each expiry. Say, Friday morning, with ESU21 being around 4265, I decide to buy calls expiring next Friday at 4280 strike. How should I quickly find the option symbol and get to the business of trading? If I use the find symbol tool, I am looking at literally thousands of symbols with no way of easily figuring out what is what and trying to figure out which one I need. See, all the data is already there. Can we have a rudimentary option chain tool? No greeks needed (although would be nice). Just something where I can type in ESU21, and it shows me all the available expiry, and I pick the expiry and the strike I want, right click and a DOM launches. That's it. If not, can we at least have a basic filter in the find option tool to filter by expiry (by choosing from a list of available)? Even that would be a huge improvement over today. I think if we get options chains for sierra chart it would take options trading to the next level, and it will pump up the number of Sierra chart users two or three folds, I have many friends who think if Sierra adds options chain would be great idea. With all these great functionality of Sierra chart I don’t know why is it so difficult to add options chain. Is it some reasons other than programming? Cause I really do think that you guys are excellent programs.
