I'm wanting to have different alert sounds as different actions occur. For instance an AlertSound such as "EURUSD Buy Signal Confirmed for 15 (or 60) minute chart" or "EURUSD Sell Signal Confirmed for 4-Hour chart". I recorded the alerts I want to use as .wma files and converted them to .wav files and stored them in AlertSounds. They work. I have attached the referenced .wav files to various Alerts such as Alert2, Alert3 etc. They work. How do I set up a specific alert for a specific action taken, without using that alert for another action that is different? I read http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_GeneralSettings.html#AlertSoundSettings but am unable to find an answer if one exists. I looked at Support Board messages but either used wrong words for a search or the question hasn't been asked as I'm describing it. Thanks JD |

You next need to add the alert condition to your studies that generate the signal or to the color bar based upon alert condition study or to a spreadsheet. If you have a few, then use a pre-existing study, if you have many then use a spreadsheet. If you give an example of one of your alerts, then I can help you create an alert for it.

VF Thank you for your kindness. Once I'm given a shove in the right direction I should be able to run with it. I've probably been inarticulate. 98% of my trades are limit orders. I don't expect to get filled on most of my orders. But if I do get filled, I'd like the alert to 1) identify the market, and 2) if announce if it's a Buy or Sell. If I've placed a limit order in each of 3 or 4 markets and get a fill while I'm analyzing other vehicles or on the 'phone, rather than the available SC verbal alert "Order has been Filled", I'd like to hear an alert from those .wav files I've created and tested correctly that would say for example "Confirmed Buy-Fill for EURO-US". So, extending the above example, could I place an order on a EUR-USD Chart-DOM, with the order causing Alert8 to be triggered for a Buy, and if clicking on a Sell would cause Alert9 to be triggered? Trade exits with corresponding specialized verbal messaging would complete the transaction. I feel as if overlooking something simple and obvious. Kind regards JD |

I think it might be possible with the Spreadsheet System For Trading study, or with a custom ACSIL study. |

You could create your own custom solution by accessing the orders using ACSIL: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_ACSILTrading.html#GettingOrderInformation Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support.
