I'm having trouble programming the Stop Limit Order. When I place the order on the DOM, it executes immediately as opposed to waiting for price to hit the stop level. |

Check your settings for the Stop Limit Order Limit Offset and ensure that when you place your Stop Limit that is not being put on the other side of the market price based on this offset. Refer to the following: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Set >> Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

This is not making sense. I've changed the Stop Limit Order Limit Offset values to "0" and also to "50". It does not make a difference. When I click in the DOM to BUY at a higher price than current, it executes immediately as a Market order, when it should not trigger until price hits the specified higher price. Isn't that the definition of the STOP LIMIT? |

First thing, if you want your Stop Limit to be set at the price at which you are setting it, then set the Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset to 0 for both the Primary Orders and Attached. Refer to the following: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Set >> Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset Then, you state that you "click in the DOM to BUY at a higher price than current". Therefore, you would need to have set your Trade >> Chart DOM Settings >> Left Click on Buy Colum Above Last or Right Click on Buy Column Above Last to be the Buy Stop Limit. Refer to the following: Global Trade Settings Windows: Chart DOM Settings Otherwise, you would be entering whatever order is defined for those settings. Or, you could enter the order buy setting the Stop price on the Trade Window and select the Buy button.
