I wonder what happen...Before I was at 20 GB and now now I max it out.

I put all my windows inside main chart too, if that change something.

and the ram jump up when lots of download are happening.

And now I just change a Ticker on the chart and it drop 10 GB - QQQ to another thing - After testing , all big Ticker like AAPL , SPY QQQ etc take a lot of ram space on fresh download , if i go to another ticker and come back , it does not take up much. When everything is already download and in premarket , I only take 8GB or ram.

It seems to fluctuate a lot base on what ticker I got in, is that normal ? Is that mean that one of my indicator is taking a lot of ram ?

I download at 20MBPS per sec , if that change something

after some investigation , It seem like its only when I do a somewhat big download, the ram usage stay high until I swap the ticker. Then if i come back to the same ticker, Its normal again.

I manage to get my ram down to 12GB now...

Sounds like a system-level issue. Also refer to:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often: 30.31 - System Memory Not Releasing

We definitively cannot provide further help. There is nothing wrong with Sierra Chart.

Either that amount of memory is being used based upon the studies on the chart and/or the loaded data, or there is some other background system issue.

cool I will investigate and send you my result , so maybe we can put it on the website.

I think all my Computer problem come from this issue.

I am using 8 instance with a lot of chart , I change CPU , VIDEO CARD to try to isolate the problem , But I find out that high ram usage when I reattach all my windows in each instance.

And it only happen when I download data without reloading charts.

I remove my anti virus from scanning Sierra chart folder.
I make sure sierra chart bypass my firewall.

it might be a Indicator issues but I would prefer to keep them.

Just did a new download for SPY - the it took 24GB of ram in one go. Then I reload and recalculate all my chart and magically this 24GB goes to 500MB.

So , I just need to reload and recalculate all charts.

And all my computer problem really come from this issues. From all my testing , with all the computer change I did. A laptop , to a desktop to a mac M1 to another desktop.

With this issues fix for me , Only a 6 core processor with 16GB max of ram is require. using 6.7GB at the moment. for 8 instance with about 60 loaded charts.

It even drop my CPU usage from 15% to 5%... This is insane boost - Now I see that your program is Very , very , VERY efficient. when its loaded with min ram usage.

I did another test , close everything then I deleted big files , like TSLA-SPY etc. Then I reaload my instance and chartbook. I took all the RAM space but I found the ALT-R key to reload all chart on a chartbook and It work , I will use this when I feel like my system is overload.

I am now using only 8 GB or ram and about 10% CPU power at market open instead of 20 to 30GB and about 15 to 20% CPU power.

I can now , buy a laptop to trade and be confident that I will not lag :)
