Wondering if anyone is using Crossover to run Sierra Chart on a Apple Silicon Mac? Is it seamless? Any problems whatsoever?

Wanting to purchase a new Mac M1 but not sure I can run Sierra chart on it.

Thanks

Super curious about this. Especially with the specs of the new MBPs coming out.

This post says it works, but I cannot vouch for its accuracy: New M1 Chip in Apple Macbook Pro | Post: 266202

Not a Mac person, but I think it means MacBook Pro.

I'm running SC with Crossover on Apple Silicone. It works, but not perfect. I'm still hoping developers someday will make native Mac version...

What do you mean by “not perfect”? What issues are you having?

Thanks

Mostly visual imperfections like fonts, some windows switching glitches, etc.
Some keyboard shortcuts are not working, horizontal scrolling with mouse is not working as well.

As I said, it works and it's fast, but with Parallels it's more pleasant to the eye.

@User783093 Don't suppose we can twist your arm to do a short recording for us to show what Sierra Chart looks like on an M1 Mac in Crossover? Would love to see what it looks like and how it performs.

That video is on an older Mac, not the new M1 Mac.

There is no difference between them, I've used both versions.

To sum up. I've ended up using Parallels 16.5 with Insider Build Windows 10 for ARM on M1 Mac mini with 16GB RAM. But I use CrossOver on M1 MacBook Air with 8GB RAM when I'm on the go, because CrossOver consumes less RAM.

What is Insider Build Windows 10?

Does anyone using Sierra chart via Crossover on their Mac here know how to right click ? simplest thing, can't figure it out.

Have been having issues with Crossover 21 on Monterey MBP Max 32GB 24c. Super laggy, even on a blank chart. Scrolling is painful, as is watching the dom update.

Parallels is fine.

mentioned in post 11

All of my keyboard shortcuts work now that I followed these instructions to add the alt key to the macos driver for the keyboard.

Fortunately, I found a better solution: you can just open the registry editor inside the Windows bottle and add the following keys:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Mac Driver]

"LeftOptionIsAlt"="Y"

"RightOptionIsAlt"="Y"

For the visual stuff, you can change the DPI setting and set the bottle to use hi resolution and I think you'll see, it's amazing.
I don't notice any mouse issues, perhaps you can give me a better idea there and I'll see if I can figure that out also.

mentioned in post 20

I use keyboard maestro to activate hand and pointer modes using my back and forward mouse buttons. So the mouse is actually hitting shortcut keys inside of sierrachart for those actions.
Perhaps you guys can try something along those lines and make your mouse do what you want it to do.
For me, it's perfect. Scroll for me moves the chart left and right.
