I just read this post here Using Sierra Chart Current Versions is Required and Historical Data New Policy about old versions being locked out in 30 days. How old are we talking about? I am not against updating Sierra Chart, but if I have to update every day that will be ridiculous and extremely annoying. Just want to understand how often updates will be forced and to get clarity on this process going forward.

It will just be a one time update requirement to the current version at the time. But we probably will not actually lock out older versions but disable historical daily data downloading and disable the DTC protocol server. Although effectively these things would mean most users will have to update. What we mean is that you just cannot be expecting to be running a particular version, that goes back a year or many years and think you can continuously do that. Users should stay up-to-date to versions that are not older than 3 to 4 months. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
