I have been using an intraday chart with ES and NISS-SP added as an additional symbol for quite some time now. I use one year worth of data so I can backtest ideas over a 12+ month period. Today, out of nothing, NISS-SP only shows one month of data. I have tried using different symbols (on both regions, e.g., RTY & NISS-TF): same limitation. I created a new chart in a new chartbook to try to identify the issue but the new chart, built from scratch, also has one month data. A second SC instance that has the same configuration shows the complete 12 month horizon for NISS-SP. Your support board has many other examples of this same bug but, unfortunately, the solution to the problem was never posted. |

Open a separate chart for NISS-SP and then set the Days to Load in Chart >> Chart Settings to 365 and do you see one year of data for that symbol? Also update to the latest prerelease and see if the issue is resolved. Instructions: Software Download: Fast Update Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. And now, after the upgrade, the second instance has also presented the same bug.

We have identified the issue. It is fairly complex of a problem/solution but we will work on a solution.

Now I have another bug in the same chart: High/Low for time period (I use starting at 9:36) refuses to register the high price (see chart). This chart is being referenced as an overlay in another chart because the add symbol function had a bug and was reported here. Still no solution. Now, the workaround that I am using since I first reported the original issue has also presented a bug. As you can see in the uploaded chart, there's no line for today's High and it shows as zero (correctly) in the status line BUT shows yesterday's high on the value label and does not print today's high line (zero). This is not a highly complex study and should work seamlessly. Bug is also present in other chartbooks and instances. They were all working fine yesterday. Reload, reboot, new chart and deleting and re-downloading all price data does not solve the issue. Meanwhile, no news as to the previous reported bug; my confidence in your software is eroding as now I cannot use the software the way it is now. I would appreciate a faster feedback than the one I had on the previous issue.

because the add symbol function had a bug and was reported here. Still no solution. This was resolved on April 21. Update to the latest prerelease:Meanwhile, no news as to the previous reported bug; my confidence in your software is eroding as now I cannot use the software the way it is now. I would appreciate a faster feedback than the one I had on the previous issue. Software Download: Fast Update Regarding post #13 we cannot identify any issue. You say: there's no line for today's High and it shows as zero (correctly) in the status line BUT shows yesterday's high on the value label and does not print today's high line (zero). High/Low for Time Period will not draw zero values. And the label is showing the most recent nonzero value by design. Look at this option:Chart Studies: Subgraphs Tab >> Always Show Name and Value Labels When Enabled And the Study/Price Overlay study has a Draw Zeros Input you can set to Yes. I would appreciate a faster feedback than the one I had on the previous issue. We handled the other issue as fast as we can. This is quite involved to be looking into an issue like this. And furthermore, the reason for the issue is because the chart is a continuous futures chart and the limited data was just following the first date of the most recent contract.

I think that SC could have posted the resolution of the issue on April 21st as a courtesy to clients that brought the error to your attention. As to H/L study, maybe the documentation could state that it will not draw zero values, even though it should: after all it does draw negative values as Highs... And finally, you have not explained why the bar in question, starting at 9:36 and with a high of zero, is drawn differently on the overlay (attached pic # (2)) and the original (# (3)). |
