I'm sorry I don't understand this all that well. I don't even know if these questions make any sense or not. So please help me understand how I will trade futures once your CME direct routing is in place. Before AMP stopped supporting TT accounts, I had been using my AMP account for trading futures with Sierra Chart. Was AMP then considered my trading account or my clearing firm, or both? Or did TT serve as the trading account and/or clearing firm? Will I be able to use my AMP account to trade futures with your new CME direct routing service, or will I need to have an outside trading account and/or a clearing firm besides AMP to trade futures using Sierra Chart's new CME direct routing service? Will my Sierra Chart account along with the new Sierra Chart CME direct routing service be able to be used as my trading account and/or clearing firm, or neither of the two? Please help me makes sense of this. thanks, Wes Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-04-02 13:26:07

If you signed up directly with AMP, then they were acting as both your Broker and as the Futures Commission Merchant (FCM). TT is just a technology service company that routes the orders for the broker. They are neither a broker or an FCM, they just provide the technology to make the trades. Will I be able to use my AMP account to trade futures with your new CME direct routing service, or will I need to have an outside trading account and/or a clearing firm besides AMP to trade futures using Sierra Chart's new CME direct routing service?
All the information we have related to the CME Direct Order Routing can be found in this thread: Now Released: Upcoming CME Direct Routing Will my Sierra Chart account along with the new Sierra Chart CME direct routing service be able to be used as my trading account and/or clearing firm, or neither of the two? Please help me makes sense of this.
Neither. The CME Direct Order Routing Service that we are working on will just be the technical connection to the exchange, we are not creating an FCM or Brokerage. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

ok, so is FCM the official term for what is referred to as a "clearing firm"? And also, are you saying that the CME Direct Order Routing Service will basically take the place of the technology that TT was providing? So if AMP decides to support the Sierra Chart CME Direct Order Routing Service, will I be able to use my AMP account for trading futures just like I was doing when they accepted TT? thanks! |
