Hi Guys,

For the longest time I have this issue of SC not recording Number of Traders Per Bar during offline.

However, there seems to have no issue recording NQ even if it is offline.

Is there a work around to record bars based on specific number of trades even when I am offline?

I attach chart settings comparison of NQ vs ES, everything seems to be the same except that I use 2000 trades per bar to record NQ. What did I miss?

Thanks in advance for the help.

You have been a long-term user who asks a lot of questions. Why are you using Interactive Brokers data for data which is available through our data feeds? We should remove support for Interactive Brokers data for CME just like we are planning to do with CQG.

You need to pay for a proper data feed and it is very inexpensive. You need to use the Denali Exchange Data Feed:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

And then you post a very complicated screenshot taking your time.

We do not provide support for Interactive Brokers data:

You just need to follow the instructions here:
Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges*

You would need to change to Service Package 11.

To change your Sierra Chart Service Package, select "Help >> Account Control Panel" on the Sierra Chart program menu. On the displayed webpage, click on the "Set Service Package for Renewal" link.

Or go to this page:
https://www.sierrachart.com/UserControlPanel.php?page=ServicesActivation

You will need to login if you are not currently logged in.

In the "Available Services >> Choose Usage Time Service Package" frame, select the Service Package that you want to set your account to. Press the "Set" button.

The remaining service usage time on your account will be adjusted based upon the cost of the package you are changing to. If the new package is a higher-priced package, then the usage time will be reduced due to the higher price.

There is no charge for changing your Sierra Chart service package. Only your Sierra Chart account usage time ending date is adjusted.

so for 1 month trial I have to accept the Advanced + Denali Data Feed = $46, even though I still have 188 days of Advanced package left?

How do I convert my balance days to Advanced + Denali Data Feed?

You can freely change between the different service packages at any time. So you can use the Denali data feed for a week and only pay for the cost for a week.

There is no trial other than potentially with the exchange fee.

We are not sure exactly what you are asking.

When you selected Package 12, you Usage Time End Date changed, as described above.

With regards to the Denali Exchange Data Feed, you need to finish the Setup Instructions starting here:

I see, you mean I need to activate item 3 of attached?

What happened to my existing unused credit? Possible to calculate the credit balance and just pay up the difference if I upgrade?

Yes. Go there and activate an exchange. Also go through the remaining items in the Setup Instructions to make sure you have everything setup correctly.

What happened to my existing unused credit? Possible to calculate the credit balance and just pay up the difference if I upgrade?

We do not have a method to pay for the difference in the packages, we just change the end date.

1. Thanks, I have selected #11, trial for 1 month and it says expiry is 22 Sep 2021?

2. Now that I have setup everything according to SC requirements. But when I checked back the charts based on "Numbers of trades per bar" for the last few weeks, it is still NOT reconstructed. Can I assume that by having Denali data feed will not change this fact?

3. On 2nd instances do I need to change any settings? solved.

When you change your Package selection, the only thing that happens is your Usage End Time shifts based on the difference in price between the selected package and the old package.

You need to go to a chart for each symbol and select Edit >> Delete All Data and Download. This will remove the previous data you had and replace it with the Denali data. This should resolve your issue with the Number of Trades per bar not working properly.

You only need to select the option to Delete All Data and Download once per symbol, not for every chart.

Noted. Possible to create additional instances so as to have 2 sets of data feed (Denali and IB) based on numbers of trades per bar? I would like to compare both data.

The best way to to do this would be to install a second instance of Sierra Chart to connect to IB without the Denali Exchange Data Feed (Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds set to No). Refer to the following:

Hi John,

Managed to download ES historical "Numbers of trades per bar" using Denali Datafeed.

I notice 2 oddities;

1. With IB, the Globex session has little volume but more candles. With Denali, the volume per bar is similar be it Globex or Pit session. I am wondering if Denali is reconstructing historical tick chart using VOLUME instead of # of TRADE?

2. With IB I set ES to 1000 tick. For Denali 10000 tick still produces too many bars (see attached).

Please advise.

Thanks

Check the bars to ensure that they are showing 10000 trades per bar using the Chart Values/Crosshair tool with the Tool Values Window.

If they are 10000 trades per bar, then that is all there is to it.

That is the setting for the chart. Make sure that each bar actually has the proper number in it.
