Dear SC, I've been using J26 to control order quantity based on trade type. I've been fine with my current trade window configuration (one OCO group). Now I've added a 2nd OCO group with a second target, to another trade window config file. Using this latter trade config file, I can *only* trade two or more contracts. I get errors when changing J26 to a single contract, because you can't do that with two OCO groups. And if I pick my .twconfig file with the single OCO group, I can trade any position I like, just within a single OCO group and without a 2nd target. So I'm stuck trading 2 and 4 contracts with my spreadsheet study, when I want to trade 1 and 2 contracts. Another issue is I'd like to trade odd numbers of contracts sometimes (3 and 5), but SC puts most the size emphasis on the 2nd target instead of the 1st one. Maybe there's a trade setting for that but all these things are solved by picking an appropriate trade window config file. So much of trade management, for manual and automated trades, relates to picking the trade window config file. It would sure help Spreadsheet users (the majority of SC automated traders), to expose the sc.TradeWindowConfigFileName string to an optional spreadsheet cell. SC could always check a cell for TradeWindowConfigFileName, before K(BuyEntry) and M(SellEntry) actions. Is this possible to add to a "J" cell? OR the Trade Management by Study study? We will try to add support to specify the trade window configuration file in a spreadsheet as soon as possible. Regarding this: Another issue is I'd like to trade odd numbers of contracts sometimes (3 and 5), but SC puts most the size emphasis on the 2nd target instead of the 1st one.
In the next release the Scale In option of Even Distribution has been renamed to Even Distribution-Maintain Ratios. There is a new "Even Distribution" option that you will want to use to solve this. For the Spreadsheet System for Trading study, I notice that J112 is now labeled "Trade Window Configuration File (read-write):" What is the status of this addition please? |

That actually is a write only field. We will update the text of it. It can be set to the name of a trade window configuration file name. We have to check though if the file extension needs to be specified, probably not. Update: the file extension is required when specifying this on the Sheet.
