Hi there, As the title says... I have an active Tradevoate account with CME, Depth of Market data subscription they offer within their app for $13 per month. My requirements are the following 1. Use Sierra's advanced features TPO, Footprint 2. Trade directly from the chart / DOM of your fantastic application I'm only trying things for the first month or two. So I think I would like to wait from committing to package 11 right away as long as my basic requirements are met for the time being. My questions a. what package do I need to get? b. do I need to buy data gain? c. do I have to be concerned about Sierra Order routing and stuff? d. of the offerings you have, what would be a workable solution for me? e. of the offerings you have, what would be a recommended solution for me? thanks for your assistance |

a. You would need Package 5. That includes TPO and Footprint (Numbers Bars). b. No. As long as you are getting your data from CQG through Tradovate, then you can use that data within Sierra Chart. We do recommend our data, as CQG has limited historical data, but it is not required. c. No. Again, as long as you are using CQG for order routing through Tradovate, then you will just setup your Sierra Chart to connect to your CQG account. To do this, you will follow the Setup Instructions here: CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions d. Already covered above. e. We would recommend using the Denali Exchange Data Feed for the CME Group data instead of the CQG data. Whenever you want to add the Denali Exchange Data Feed to your account, you can do so by following these instructions: Denali Exchange Data Feed: *Setup Instructions: CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX Exchanges* For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I got the following responses from 1) Tradovate Below are the two options we can connect Sierra Chart for. Using Sierra Chart for Charting/Analysis only: Trading possible only via Tradovate $15/month CQG connection fee required Requires a second set of market data Using Sierra Chart for trading: Trading possible via Sierra Chart only $15/month CQG connection fee Requires a second set of market data $0.15/side ($0.30/RT) CQG order routing fee To get this set up for you, please email support@tradovate.com which option you would want to have and please also confirm the fees would be acceptable for you. 2) AMP AMP only offers routing through CQG for Sierra Chart. If you are trading through Sierra Chart, you may receive market data through them, but the order routing would be through CQG - not their service
Tradovate doesn't seem like a good choice overall vs. your package 11 offering. Couple more questions now, John a) I suppose with package 11 I can get live data from your offering for charting and analysis, but cannot place trade from Sierra Chart? b) To be able to do trade from Sierra Chart, either I will have to change the broker from Tradovate, or pay extra $0.3 per contract? c) What alternatives do I have for (b)? Sierra Order Routing at $0.2 per contract is supported for which brokers, although your FAQ says it is a broker neutral service because of TT backend? |

a) Incorrect. You get the data from us, and do your trading through Sierra Chart to your broker. You can use any broker that supports either CQG or TT (except with AMP, where it is only CQG). b) That is what it looks like, but that is not an unusual number. Check the fees from any broker you are going to work with. c) Any broker (except AMP) that supports TT can be used with our Sierra Chart Order Routing Service. There is a partial list of brokers at Step #2 of the Setup Instructions for that service. You will find that here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/SierraChartOrderRoutingServiceWithData.php#SetupInstructions But you will want to check ALL the fees that you will pay with any broker. The Order Routing fee is just one part of what you will pay. So you will need to ensure you are looking at the full picture. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

You need to connect to your CQG account with Tradovate. To do this, follow these instructions: CQG Trading Platform Service: Setup Instructions Also, if you are not going to stay connected to CQG and are only going to connect once a month, then refer to the following: Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Connecting Only Once a Month to Trading Account to Support CME Group Exchange Fees For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

I do not have a separate CQG account. I have a funded futures account with Tradovate however.

Tradovate can set up your account with them to use CQG for the order routing, or perhaps it already is. You had referenced this previously in post #3. In the end, the issue is that you have to have a funded futures trading account in order to qualify for the lower-priced non-professional exchange fees from the CME Group. We validate your account electronically when you connect Sierra Chart to your futures trading account. Refer to the information here: Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Understanding and Accessing Data From the CME, CBOT, NYMEX, COMEX Exchanges Therefore, you would need to have an account with a broker that uses one of the supported trading services that we work with. You will find the list of these services here: Supported Data and Trading Services: Supported Services Note that one of the options is CQG, and as we have been stating previously, Tradovate offers support for CQG. Therefore, if your account with Tradovate is setup to use CQG, then you can connect your Sierra Chart to that CQG account in order to validate your non-professional status. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
