Hi, it may sounds silly yet I can't find the solution for my simply question. Q1. How can I display a certain Draw style (i.e. Arrow up/down) at the chart region 1 (Main Price area) under the certain bar and avoid the symbol to be displayed at 0 level of the chart's scale? The only draw styles which do not "mess up" the scale are "Point on Low/high" or "Value on Low/high". But I would like to use many others to indicate certain bars based on the "Color Bar based on Alert Condition" study and can't do it at all. Q2. Is there any option to apply other than i.e point on low; value on low; Color Bar fill; background Draw styles for spreadsheet generrated alerts? Also can't find the option apart from those few mentioned. And would love to use arrows, squares etc. If I only apply any other draw style, the draw symbol appears on level 0 of the chart scale and make the whole chart invisible. Many thanks for solution for this issue. Playing around the chart scale has not helped me either. :( Cheers, Piotr |

What you need to consider is what is the information that is stored in the Subgraph for which you want the drawing. Quite often, the information in the Subgraph is 0 or 1 (false and true), which you do not want to use to place the markers, as you have seen. The Color Bar Based on Alert Condition has a large amount of flexibility to help with this, in particular the Input for "Output When Condition Is True" which allows you to select the "Input", which often will be a valid price data. If the particular price data is just not available, then that is where Draw Styles like "Point on High", or "Point on Low" can be used, as the actual Subgraph data is not used, rather the bar High or Low is. So you just need to work through the situation that you are dealing with and find if there is a way to get what you want at the level you want it. For example, you reference the Spreadsheet Study. You would need to ensure that the results of your formulas for a given column are at a Price level where the data can be seen. Then you can select any of the Draw Styles that you want. Thank you for the explanation. I fully get your point and the last sentence about spreadsheet is the best of what I would like to achieve. I have proper 1/0 false/true price indicators based on my spreadsheet formulas and all I want to do is to use different draw style/element to showcase this on the chart. The bar background or color or point below are fine styles and I use them, but just wonder how to use the other graph elements to indicate certain true/(1) result from the spreadsheet. The the square, arrow or any other simple symbol is being drawn at the 0 level of the scale and there is no way to use option i.e. "distance of X ticks from the bar". Try to find the way around yet without success so far :( Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-03-18 18:58:19

What you need to do is to return a result that at the High (or 1 tick above the High) or Low (or 1 tick below the low) when you have a True condition, and then leave any False results as 0 (0's are not drawn, by default, but some studies can be set to show them). For example, instead of: =IF ( A > B, 1, 0), you would want to put something like =IF ( A > B, ID0.SG2@3 + $J$21) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
