ES - MES Trade and Current Quote Symbol

After rolling over Contracts on ES I am unable to execute on MES contract via ES chart. Has something changed recently - orders being rejected as they are using margin requirements for full ES contracts, the other day I was trading ES when I though I was trading MES - this was a rude shock when I realised, is there anyway to combat this ?
